Howdy, I’m Alison (she/they)

I’m a psychotherapist in Kansas City, MO supporting adults with a variety of adaptations to early, enduring trauma and complex grief. I am clinically licensed to work with individuals in Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois.

I’m moved by the way people grow, like native grasses and wildflowers, despite habitat loss and dysfunction. Alike the prairie biome, our deep root systems retain wisdom and nourishment for a generative life. I hold a deep reverence for my client’s life stories, and draw from a variety of clinical learning to support each person’s process which you can read about
here.

I’ve worked as a therapist in Chicago at community-based clinics, nonprofits, and in private practice since 2017. My clinical work is informed by my own rambling path through care work, creative practice, and community organizing. Previously, I was a teaching artist and have been told I approach therapy with a poetic sensibility too.

I have recently, and lovingly, returned to the prairie lands that raised me within the unceded territory of many Indigenous Nations, including the Kiikaapoi, Kaw/Kansa, Osage, Shawnee, Nutachi, Oceti Sakowin, and Otoe-Missouria tribes.
